Four Routes Including Lines 8155, 8156, 1002, and 1008
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province will implement a pilot service for the 'Public Bus Easy Reservation System,' which allows real-time reservation and boarding of public buses, starting from the 22nd.
According to the province on the 15th, the pilot targets four routes with intervals of 20 minutes or more among public buses running to and from Sadang Station: routes 8155, 8156, 1002, and 1008.
The 'Public Bus Easy Reservation System' features the ability to check the expected arrival time and the number of available seats of public buses through the 'Gyeonggi Bus Information' app, and then reserve and use the bus accordingly.
To prevent confusion during boarding, reserved passengers board first, and non-reserved passengers can board using the remaining seats.
Reservations and cancellations are possible up to all stops at Sadang Station, and a boarding preparation alert before the bus arrives helps ensure that reserved buses are not missed.
Fare payment is made by tagging the transportation card registered at the time of reservation on the terminal.
Additionally, the 'Tagless Payment System,' which automatically processes fare payment without tagging the transportation card on the terminal, currently supports only Android phones, and iPhones without NFC functionality are expected to be supported starting in June.
To prevent innocent victims caused by indiscriminate reservations, a penalty policy for 'no-shows' (reservations made but not boarded) will also be operated. No-show passengers are planned to be restricted from using the service on weekdays the following day.
To ensure that vulnerable groups such as the elderly, foreigners, and non-smartphone users do not face difficulties in using the service, on-site guides and kiosks inside the Gyeonggi Bus Lounge will be operated.
The province plans to expand the easy reservation system to all round-trip routes at Sadang Station after analyzing its effects, such as reducing the inconvenience of lining up for public bus users.
