[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 15th that it participated in the Ministry of Environment's 'Korean-style 2030 Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition 100' declaration ceremony and declared that it will convert all of the bank's business vehicles to zero-emission vehicles (electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles) by 2030.

The Korean-style 2030 Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition 100 is a project in which private companies publicly declare to convert 100% of the vehicles they own or lease to zero-emission vehicles by 2030 to expand the supply of zero-emission vehicles in the private sector.

Shinhan Bank plans to convert approximately 1,370 business vehicles leased by the bank to zero-emission vehicles by 2030 and will expand support for zero-emission vehicle use by installing electric vehicle charging infrastructure at self-operated branches nationwide for employees and customers.

A Shinhan Bank official said, "To expand the supply of zero-emission vehicles, we plan to launch on the 19th the 'Shinhan Green My Car Loan,' an eco-friendly vehicle exclusive loan product, expanding the target from existing electric vehicles to hydrogen and hybrid vehicles," adding, "Through participation in the Korean-style 2030 Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition 100 and the expansion of the Shinhan Green My Car Loan target, we will actively cooperate with the government's efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050."
