GS Retail Establishes Integrated Customer Data Analysis System with GS Homeshopping GS Retail is establishing a data analysis system for 26 million customers in collaboration with GS Homeshopping.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Retail announced on the 15th that it will establish a 26 million customer data analysis system with GS Home Shopping. Since February, the two companies have launched an integrated customer task force (TF) consisting of about 150 practitioners related to IT, data analysis, membership, and information protection, and are currently discussing data analysis and expanding customer integration synergy.


The TF plans to complete the data integration work centered on ▲establishing a data utilization and analysis system ▲introducing single sign-on (using multiple services with one login) ▲building an information protection and personal information protection management system around the merger scheduled for July this year.


Looking at the membership customer composition ratio held by the two companies, the youth demographic aged 10 to 30 accounts for 62% and 74% at GS25 and Lalavla, respectively, while GS Home Shopping has a high composition ratio of 81% for middle-aged and older customers aged 40 and above, showing a complementary relationship.


After establishing the data analysis system, the two companies plan to mutually cross and expand customers' shopping experiences according to life cycles, while providing consumer conveniences such as customized benefits and strengthened recommendation algorithms so that lifestyle consumption can take place within GS Retail’s platform across all age groups.


In addition, they aim to complete the construction of a single sign-on system by July so that users can easily access the multiple channels of integrated GS Retail with one login. Once this work is completed, consumers will be able to conveniently use all of GS Retail’s online shopping platforms with a single login.


Along with establishing the data utilization system, authentication to safely protect integrated customer information will also be promoted. The information protection certification systems held by the two companies will be integrated into a unified certification in the second half of the year, equipped with the highest level of technical and managerial requirements to securely protect the integrated corporation’s customer information.


A GS Retail official said, “With the merger of the two companies, GS Retail’s customer base will expand to the industry’s highest level,” and added, “Integrated GS Retail will strengthen its position as a life cycle retail platform that satisfies customers of all ages from infancy to old age through data utilization to expand synergy.”
