Selection of Winning Design for Beolgyo-eup Planning Competition... Notable for Its Three-Dimensional Spatial Composition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) is accelerating the construction projects of the Boseong-gun Complex Community Center and Beolgyo Cultural Complex Center, which are key initiatives to revitalize the urban area.
On the 14th, the county unveiled the design of the Beolgyo Cultural Complex Center, selected through a design competition for the construction project.
The winning entry, submitted by RIGAON Architects Co., Ltd., was praised for its harmonious facade plan with the surrounding landscape, flexible connection of interior and exterior spaces, and three-dimensional external space composition, effectively expressing Beolgyo’s regional identity.
The Beolgyo Cultural Complex Center will be built with a total floor area of 10,500㎡ and will include convenience facilities such as a swimming pool, a living culture center, a small library, a small cinema, and a parking lot.
The design is scheduled to be completed in the first half of next year, with construction starting in the second half, aiming for completion in 2024.
The ‘Boseong-gun Complex Community Center’ being constructed in Boseong-eup will have a total floor area of 15,700㎡ and will be equipped with convenience facilities including a living culture center, family center, small library, sports facilities, administrative support center, and parking lot. Detailed design will begin in the second half of this year, with construction starting thereafter, targeting completion in 2023.
Governor Kim Cheol-woo of Boseong-gun stated, “We will closely monitor the progress of the complex center construction projects underway in both Boseong-eup and Beolgyo-eup to expand the insufficient cultural facilities and alleviate the cultural thirst of local residents.”
Meanwhile, the county is actively investing 76.5 billion KRW to improve residents’ living conditions and settlement environments through urban revitalization projects, including the Beolgyo Cultural Complex Center, the county complex community center, and urban regeneration New Deal projects.
