Final Report Meeting on Comprehensive Development Plan, Identifying 28 Strategies Including Healing Agriculture Leading City

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do has established a comprehensive development plan aiming for the 2030 vision of a ‘cultural healing city where tradition and future coexist.’
According to Haenam-gun on the 14th, a final report meeting for the 2030 comprehensive development plan was held on the 12th, selecting 28 major strategic projects and 154 detailed tasks across 7 fields with communication, healing, and creativity as core values.
In particular, the top 10 core projects include actively promoting the cultivation of a leading city for healing agriculture, the creation of a smart logistics complex for agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, an eco-friendly food grid distribution system, expansion of bicycle and single-person mobility infrastructure, marketing for prenatal travel hotspots, fostering the mobile accommodation industry, development of the Haenam Kimchi convergence industry, promotion of community-based sharing economy, distribution of resident profit-sharing renewable energy, and expansion of sports facilities and strengthening of sports marketing.
By region, the western area is planned as an economic innovation hub for future agriculture and advanced industries, connecting Solar City enterprise city, Hwawon industrial complex, and Usuyeong historical and cultural tourism belt; the central area as an administrative, residential, and commercial city with agricultural and fishery convergence industry development; and the southern area as a land’s end healing tourism center linked with ecological marine resources.
In addition, 14 separate development strategies by town and township focusing on regional specialized projects such as the establishment of bicycle and single-person mobility infrastructure in Haenam-eup, green city landscape projects, revitalization of the traditional Hanok village in Samsan-myeon, and the foundation of sports marketing are drawing attention.
To expand resident participation in establishing the comprehensive development plan, Haenam-gun operated a 48-member resident participation research group, and has been promoting projects with public consensus through interviews with local leaders and experts, on-site investigations in towns and townships, council meetings, and opinion collection via the county website.
The Haenam-gun comprehensive development plan will be disclosed through the county website after compiling opinions from the final report meeting.
County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan said, “We put our heads together to actively respond to rapidly changing times and changes in higher policy environments such as the Korean New Deal and Blue Economy, and to devise mid- to long-term development plans for Haenam-gun,” adding, “We plan to enhance execution capabilities in various ways, including expert consultation and consulting for detailed implementation plans by field, so that the proposed vision and projects are reflected in actual county administration and felt by residents,” urging continuous interest.
