[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 14th, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, resumed the face-to-face communication channel "Open County Office," which had been suspended due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), after five months.

At the Open County Office, various grievances and suggestions received were discussed in one place for about two hours by the residents, County Governor Seo Chun-soo, and relevant department officials to find solutions.

During the Open County Office held that day, various residents' opinions and grievances were presented, including flood damage restoration and maintenance of county-owned land and issues related to the use of farm roads.

Due to the April 7 by-election and the nationwide spread of COVID-19, the Open County Office had not been held, making the discussions at this session even more heated.

Governor Seo said, "All residents are going through a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation. At times like this, we will listen more carefully to the voices of the residents." He added, "We cannot give up face-to-face communication, so we will continue to operate the Open County Office safely while adhering to quarantine guidelines."

The demands and suggestions raised during this consultation will be reviewed thoroughly after the responsible departments conduct on-site inspections to understand the current status and issues, and follow-up measures will be taken for those parts that can be addressed.
