Sejong City Expands Maternal and Newborn Health Care Coverage... 'Type A' Eligibility Up to 180% of Median Income

Sejong City Expands Maternal and Newborn Health Care Coverage... 'Type A' Eligibility Up to 180% of Median Income Provided by Sejong City

[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Sejong City Health Center announced on the 14th that it will expand the Maternal and Newborn Health Care Support Project starting from the 22nd of next month.

Accordingly, from next month, the integrated support eligibility will be expanded from 120% to 150% of the median income based on health insurance premiums, and the Type Ra support eligibility will be expanded from 150% to 180%.

The beneficiaries of the service expansion will only apply if the childbirth (expected) date is after the 22nd of next month, and the application period is from 40 days before the expected childbirth date to 30 days after the childbirth date.

Income is calculated based on the health insurance premium of the month prior to the application date. In the case of dual-income households, the calculation method sums 100% of the higher health insurance premium and 50% of the lower premium between the parents.

The median income determination criteria can be confirmed through the health insurance premium personal burden amount, and individual health insurance premiums can be checked and inquired at the National Health Insurance Service.

Applications for the project can be made through the Southern Integrated Health Branch Office's Child and Maternal Department or via the Bokjiro website.

Meanwhile, the support project is implemented to dispatch health care workers to childbirth families to assist with maternal health management and newborn care.

Support recipients are selected by classifying income levels into categories such as ‘Type Ga’, ‘Integrated Type’, and ‘Type Ra’, and the personal burden amount excluding government subsidies varies depending on the type.
