Chuncheon City Brand Wins Four Design Awards... A World First Case

[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] Chuncheon City recently won the '2020 Good Design Award' hosted by the Chicago Art Museum in the United States, achieving a grand slam for the first time in the history of global city branding.


According to the city on the 14th, this is the fourth award following the '2020 Red Dot Award', '2021 German Design Award', and '2020 IT-AWARD'.


The 'Good Design Award', with a 75-year history, is given annually to cutting-edge industries worldwide, including product and graphic design.


The city's integrated urban brand was developed in 2019 with the concept of "a city where citizens are happy through citizen sovereignty and sustainable development."


By innovatively introducing a flexible identity system, it has received excellent evaluations in pioneering design, design innovation, and functionality.


The city published the 'Chuncheon City Integrated Urban Brand Guidebook 2021', which contains the award details of the integrated urban brand and cases of flexible design application.


It also serves as an applied identity platform for landmark-type sculptures, public art, and public design within the city.


This year, Chuncheon City plans to establish an integrated urban brand store to showcase various products applying the city brand to citizens and tourists.
