GS25, Selling One Thonsal Chicken Every 39 Seconds... Surpasses 70,000 Units Sold GS25's Thonsal Chicken surpassed cumulative sales of 70,000 units within one month since its launch last month.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS25 announced on the 14th that Thonsal Chicken surpassed cumulative sales of 70,000 chickens within a month since its launch last month. This means that more than one chicken was sold every 39 seconds.


According to an analysis of delivery service sales data by GS25 from the 12th of last month to the 11th of this month, Thonsal Chicken ranked first in sales among about 1,000 delivery service products.


Thonsal Chicken is a product independently developed by GS25 based on a survey conducted last December with 250 customers using delivery services. The time period with the highest concentration of orders was confirmed to be three hours from 6 PM to 9 PM (39.9%), and the days with the highest order proportions were Sunday (24.4%) and Saturday (20.9%), respectively.


GS25 plans to continue the Thonsal Chicken craze by offering bold promotions. Until the end of this month, customers who purchase GS25’s Thonsal Chicken through delivery apps Yogiyo or KakaoTalk Order will receive four free products: ▲1.5L Pepsi Cola ▲190ml Pepsi Cola ▲seasoned sauce ▲chicken radish.


On Yogiyo, customers who purchase set products including Thonsal Chicken will receive an immediate discount of 3,000 KRW, and on the 15th and 25th of this month, a 5,000 KRW immediate discount will be applied. Customers who purchase GS25 products with promotional cards through KakaoTalk Order will receive a 5,000 KRW discount until the end of this month, and customers who buy Thonsal Chicken every Friday through Sunday in April will receive an additional 3,000 KRW discount.


A GS Retail official said, “Thonsal Chicken, launched reflecting customer feedback, is changing the landscape of the convenience store chicken category, which was centered on piece chicken,” and added, “Starting with Thonsal Chicken, we plan to continuously expand various products that actively incorporate customer opinions.”
