[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] On the 14th, the number of new domestic COVID-19 cases recorded 731, rising back to the 700s after six days.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on that day, 731 new domestic COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 111,419. Regarding the infection routes, 714 cases were locally transmitted, and 17 were imported cases.
By region, in the metropolitan area, Seoul reported 245 cases, Gyeonggi 238 cases, and Incheon 26 cases. In non-metropolitan areas, many cases were reported in Busan (48), Ulsan (30), Chungbuk (29), and Gyeongnam (27). Following these were Gyeongbuk with 14 cases, Daejeon and Daegu with 11 cases each, Chungnam and Jeonbuk with 10 cases each, Gangwon with 6 cases, Gwangju with 5 cases, Sejong with 2 cases, and Jeonnam and Jeju with 1 case each. Cases were reported in all regions nationwide.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths increased by 7 from the previous day, reaching 1,782. The number of critically ill patients decreased by 1 from the previous day to 100. The number of patients who were declared recovered and released from isolation increased by 651 to 101,983.
On that day, the number of suspected case tests reported was 44,869, and the number of tests conducted at temporary screening clinics in the metropolitan area was 41,808. Among these, 140 cases were confirmed positive at the metropolitan temporary screening clinics.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team reported that as of midnight on that day, 43,389 people received their first dose, bringing the total number of first-dose recipients to 1,239,065. Three additional people received their second dose, bringing the cumulative total to 60,567. So far, 936,448 people have received the AstraZeneca vaccine, and 302,617 have received the Pfizer vaccine.
The number of suspected adverse reactions reported after COVID-19 vaccination increased by 64 cases from the previous day, totaling 11,799 cases. Newly reported adverse reaction cases included 1 suspected anaphylaxis case and 1 death case. The rest were mild symptoms such as muscle pain and headache.
