KLPGA, 'September Elkru-TV Chosun Pro Celebrity Invitation'

The Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) has secured the Elkrew-TV Chosun Pro Celebrity event.

On the 13th, a signing ceremony was held at the Chosun Ilbo headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, jointly hosted by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, TV Chosun, and KLPGA. This is the first time in KLPGA history that professionals and celebrities will share the stage. The winner will be decided through a 54-hole stroke play over three days starting September 24. The first and second rounds will be played by the professionals only, and in the third round, 60 finalists will be joined by 30 domestic and international celebrities.

The total prize money is 600 million KRW, with the winner's prize being 108 million KRW. Kim Yong-bin, Chairman of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, said, "With participation from not only players but also popular entertainers and celebrities, the event is expected to be rich in spectacle," adding, "It will be a great gift during these difficult times due to COVID-19." Kang Chun-ja, CEO of KLPGT, responded, "We are very pleased to hold a new format tournament with a strong sponsor," and said, "It will provide fresh enjoyment to golf fans."
