[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seung-hyun Jeong] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it will operate the 'Cultural Gaetmul School' from the 13th to June 17th through the Mokpo Cultural City Center (Director Jumin Kwan, hereafter the Center).

The city recruited students for the Cultural Gaetmul School from March 22 to April 5 as a preliminary project for designation as a statutory cultural city promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and selected 22 students for each training course.

The Cultural Gaetmul School is a cultural workforce training program that educates citizens interested in cultural planning or cultural curators, or those currently active as local creators.

The Cultural Gaetmul School operated by the Center consists of three training courses: cultural planners, cultural curators, and local creators.

The training courses invite external experts to provide education on developing and managing regional cultural content, enhancing cultural competitiveness through the development of regionally specialized products, and training curators who can be linked with local festivals and exhibitions. These sessions are held at the Mokpo Twinstar conference room and the annex seminar room of Nojeokbong Art Park.

Meanwhile, the trained professionals plan to collaborate and engage in activities linked with the Tteunggeumpo Planning Group, Literary Expo, and others.

Jumin Kwan, Director of the Mokpo Cultural City Center, emphasized, "This year is the year to promote the preliminary cultural city project," adding, "We will focus on expanding citizen-led programs to establish a citizen governance system and ensure active participation and support from citizens."
