On the 13th, Yoon Ho-jung, a four-term lawmaker running for the Democratic Party floor leader, appeared at a joint debate and appealed for support, saying, "There is only one year left until the next presidential election during the floor leader's term. To quickly overcome COVID-19 and the economic crisis and to innovate the party, this floor leader must be more competent and experienced than anyone else."

On that day, Yoon said, "I came here with the determination to innovate the Democratic Party and lead the presidential election to victory," adding, "I will be at the forefront and at the grassroots level until the Democratic Party regains the trust of the people through strong reforms."

Along with this, he emphasized expanding COVID-19 vaccine distribution and consumer support policies as practical pledges.

Yoon said, "The prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession are causing suffering to the people," and added, "I will inspect the status of COVID-19 vaccine distribution and analyze livelihood support measures to prepare extraordinary quarantine and economic support plans." He also stated that real estate policies would be urgently reviewed to prepare countermeasures.

Regarding party reform measures, he announced plans to activate 'legislative hearings' and establish the Democratic Party's online petition system and regional public response centers to ensure that the voices of the people reach the party and its leadership. He added that to expedite the passage of livelihood reform bills, regular meetings of standing committee chairs, secretaries, and meetings of first- and second-term lawmakers would be institutionalized.

Yoon emphasized, "To operate the floor democratically, I will introduce general meetings of lawmakers by seniority and appoint lawmakers recommended at those meetings as deputy floor leaders, establishing a system that listens carefully to the opinions of lawmakers."

He continued, saying that special subcommittees for eradicating corruption would be formed in each standing committee to block corruption crimes such as the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) scandal, and that a strong cooperation system among the party, government, and Blue House would be created to enhance policy capabilities.

Yoon said, "I will strengthen the party's policy capabilities by forming policy committees in each standing committee and institutionalize party-government consultations by standing committee to create a strong and comprehensive cooperation system among the party, government, and Blue House."

During this debate, Yoon highlighted his capabilities as the next floor leader by mentioning his past achievements.

He said, "In the last local election, I served as the Gyeonggi Provincial Party's nomination management committee chairman and achieved the party's victory by replacing one-third of incumbent local leaders through nominations. In the 21st general election, the Democratic Party won without a single lawmaker defecting," emphasizing, "I am confident in innovation and reform. I am confident that I will work more fairly and justly than anyone else."
