Gyeongnam Province Reports 23 New COVID-19 Cases... 13 in Jinju, 6 in Gimhae, etc. (Comprehensive)

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 13th, 23 new confirmed cases were reported since 5 PM the previous day.

By region, there were 13 cases in Jinju, 6 in Gimhae, and 2 each in Changwon and Geoje.

Among the confirmed cases in Jinju, 6 were all classified as cases 3158~3160 and 3163~3165 after testing positive following contact with confirmed cases within the province.

The remaining 7 were classified as cases 3166~3172 after voluntarily getting tested upon experiencing symptoms. Their infection routes are under investigation.

Among them, case 3168 was confirmed to be a high school student in Jinju. The quarantine authorities have set up a screening clinic at the school and are testing a total of 54 people, including 47 students and 7 staff members.

Three confirmed cases in Gimhae are related to the Gimhae Elderly Daycare Center. They tested positive after developing symptoms during quarantine and were classified as cases 3157, 3175, and 3178. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Gimhae Elderly Daycare Center to 25.

The other three cases were classified as cases 3156, 3177, and 3176 after testing positive following contact with confirmed cases either within the province or from other regions.

Among the confirmed cases in Changwon, one who had contact with a confirmed case within the province and one who had contact with a confirmed case from another region were classified as cases 3173 and 3174, respectively.

The two confirmed cases in Geoje are family members who tested positive after experiencing symptoms and were classified as cases 3161 and 3162. Their infection routes are under investigation.

Accordingly, the total number of confirmed cases in the province has increased to 3,175 (216 hospitalized, 2,945 discharged, 14 deceased).
