[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it conducted a simulation drill on the 8th to check the preparation and vaccination process for the COVID-19 vaccine and has completed preparations for COVID-19 vaccination operations.

During the simulation drill, more than 90 people, including vaccination personnel from Gangjin-gun, participated and thoroughly checked all aspects of vaccine preparation and vaccination, including vaccine storage, preliminary examination, and treatment of adverse reactions to vaccination.

Gangjin-gun has set up a vaccination center at the 2nd Indoor Gymnasium of Gangjin Sports Complex and will begin administering Pfizer vaccines to seniors aged 75 and older starting on the 15th.

The vaccination center's vaccine storage area is equipped with one ultra-low temperature freezer for storing Pfizer vaccines and two refrigerators for storing thawed and prepared vaccines. To prepare for possible power outages, a generator and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) have been installed to ensure there are no issues with vaccine storage.

COVID-19 vaccination hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and vaccination days may be adjusted depending on the supply of vaccines.

Visitors to the vaccination center must bring identification, and vaccinations are only administered to those who have registered and consented to vaccination through the vaccination registration system at the town or township office. If an unregistered person wishes to be vaccinated, they can apply through the respective town or township office.

A military official stated, “Vaccination recipients should manage their health and be sure to complete their vaccination on the scheduled date,” adding, “Since COVID-19 immunity is formed after the second dose, please continue to follow preventive measures such as wearing masks even after vaccination.”
