One Month Before the 'Seoul P4G Summit' on Climate Change Response... [Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 13th that it plans to hold a meeting of overseas attach?s on the 14th, one month ahead of the '2021 Seoul Green Future Summit (Seoul P4G Summit),' where the public and private sectors come together to address climate change.


The 14 overseas attach?s attending the meeting are dispatched from local embassies of major agricultural and food-related countries such as the United States, Belgium (European Union·EU), China, and Japan, as well as international organizations including the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). They play a role in understanding the host country's policies and media trends, attending meetings and negotiations, and reflecting South Korea's position.


At this meeting, they will share the host country's agricultural policies and agricultural cooperation plans with international organizations regarding carbon neutrality, a global key issue. Minister Kim Hyun-soo of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is expected to remind the attach?s of the situation one month before the P4G Summit and urge them to play an active role. He plans to emphasize the active global discussions on food security.


An official from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said, "Through this meeting, we expect to share policy-related opinions and difficulties between the attach?s working at the policy intersection of major countries worldwide and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and to build consensus on the key points of domestic agricultural policy to enhance the attach?s' work efficiency."
