Support for 4th Emergency Employment Stability Fund for Special Types of Workers and Freelancers Not Supported in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Rounds...Apply Online via Emergency Employment Stability Fund Website or Visit Local Employment Center by the 21st
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has encouraged applications for the 4th round of support funds for special-type workers (hereafter referred to as "teukgo") and freelancers, implemented by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The "4th Emergency Employment Stability Support Fund" is an emergency support program aimed at stabilizing the livelihoods of teukgo and freelancers who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, providing 1 million KRW to new applicants.
The support targets teukgo and freelancers who did not receive the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd emergency employment stability support funds but provided labor between October and November 2020 and earned income of 500,000 KRW or more. The eligibility criteria include ▲annual income of 50 million KRW or less in 2019 ▲a decrease of 25% or more in income in February or March 2021 compared to a reference period (which can be chosen from the average monthly income in 2019, or income in February, March, October, or November 2020) ▲and non-enrollment in employment insurance during the relevant period.
Applicants registered as business operators with the National Tax Service as of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's announcement date (March 26, 2021) are excluded from support. However, an exception is made for 14 teukgo occupations covered by industrial accident insurance who are registered as business operators.
The application period is until 6 PM on the 21st. Applicants can check the announcement on the Emergency Employment Stability Support Fund website and apply online. For those who have difficulty applying online, they can visit the employment center in charge of their residence or workplace in person with identification and required documents from the 15th to the 21st to apply.
The 4th disaster support fund will be paid in a lump sum after the review is completed, with plans to finish payments by early June. For more details, inquiries can be made to the dedicated call center.
Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, "This will be a great help to teukgo and freelancers in the region who are going through a more difficult time than ever," adding, "We will continue to develop various policies to stabilize the livelihoods of residents affected by COVID-19 and to revitalize the local economy."
