Picking Up Trash Around Wabu Wolmuncheon and Onam Palhyeoncheon Areas... Conducted in an 'Environmentally Friendly' Way
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Namyangju Urban Corporation announced on the 13th that "employees of the corporation and students from the Youth Training Center together conducted 'Sseudam Running (plogging)' around Wabu Wolmuncheon and Onam Palhyeoncheon on the 10th."
'Sseudam Running' refers to an environmental cleanup activity where participants pick up trash while running. Since the main goal is to reduce waste, the entire event was conducted in an 'environmentally friendly' manner.
No promotional materials such as banners that would be discarded after the event were produced, and trash was collected using eco-friendly (biodegradable) garbage bags.
The collected trash was sorted again by employees to separate recyclable waste for disposal. The corporation plans to continue the Sseudam Running event regularly through various methods rather than as a one-time event.
Ryu Seong-taek, Director of the Facilities and Welfare Headquarters, said, "Sseudam Running was meaningful in practicing the city's key project of 'reducing waste by 20%' and the corporation's initiative to create a 'Clean Namyangju.'"
