[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it will extend the current social distancing level 1.5 for three weeks from the 12th to May 2nd, following the government's announcement of the social distancing adjustment plan.

Under this extension measure, the ban on private gatherings of five or more people remains in place.

In addition, multi-use facilities such as restaurants, cafes, indoor sports facilities, and singing practice rooms can operate without time restrictions as long as basic quarantine rules are followed. The five types of entertainment facilities must also comply with basic quarantine rules, with no separate operating hour restrictions.

The mask-wearing guidelines have also been strengthened. From the 12th, regardless of the distancing level, masks must be worn at all times indoors, and outdoors when maintaining a distance of 2 meters or more is not possible, or when gatherings, performances, or events with many people occur.

Governor Seo said, “The maintenance of level 1.5 this time is a decision considering quarantine fatigue and the livelihood economy. If the infection situation worsens or if quarantine management by industry is insufficient, we will immediately strengthen targeted quarantine measures by industry to block the spread of infection in the community.” He added, “Since infections continue to occur in the province, our county is not in a situation to be complacent, so we ask for compliance with quarantine rules to overcome this as soon as possible.”
