[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] Samil Accounting Corporation announced on the 12th that it has selected Professor Yang Dong-hoon of Dongguk University Business School for the service category and Professor Kim Jong-il of the Catholic University Accounting Department for the writing category as the 'Samil Accounting Corporation Distinguished Professors of the Korean Accounting Association.'
The Samil Distinguished Professors are sponsored by Samil Accounting Corporation and selected by the Korean Accounting Association. For the service category, currently active professors who have long served in the accounting field are selected, and for the writing category, currently active professors who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in accounting-related writings and excellent academic activities, and who have shown leadership in the development of the accounting industry and association, are selected as criteria.
The terms of Professors Yang Dong-hoon and Kim Jong-il are from this month until March next year. The Korean Accounting Association, with the sponsorship of Samil Accounting Corporation, provides a certain amount of research funding to the distinguished professors in each category during their term.
The Samil Distinguished Professors program is one of the social contribution activities that Samil Accounting Corporation has been implementing since 2003 for the development of Korean accounting. Including the two professors selected this time, a total of 27 professors in the accounting field have been selected and supported so far.
