This Year’s Contactless Children’s Day... Gimhae City Hosts Drawing and Writing Contest for Children Notice for Gyeongnam Gimhae City Non-Face-to-Face Children's Drawing and Writing Contest.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 12th that it will hold the 99th Children's Day commemorative event as a non-face-to-face drawing and writing contest to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the local community and to consider the safety of children and citizens.

The contest themes are “A World Where Children Are Respected,” “A World Without Violence,” and “The Happiness I Dream Of.” For drawing, participants can use any materials on 4 or 8 cut drawing paper. For writing, participants can freely compose poems or prose within 5 pages of A4 size paper (15pt font).

The submission period is from the 8th to the 23rd. Eligible participants are children aged 5 to under 18 years old residing in the jurisdiction.

Works should be submitted along with the application form by mail or in person to the Childcare Division of City Hall. In-person submissions are accepted from the 19th to the 21st. Written works can also be submitted via email by 6 PM on the deadline day.

For more detailed information, please refer to the announcements on the City Hall website or contact the Childcare Division of City Hall.

Mayor Heo Seong-gon said, “I hope this will be a precious time for children to think about themselves, their friends, and their families while drawing and writing. I hope that COVID-19 will end soon so that next year’s Children’s Day event can be held as usual, allowing children to take off their masks and play freely.”
