[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Everland, a domestic theme park that opened as 'Yongin Natural Farm' in April 1976, announced on the 12th that it will celebrate its 45th anniversary on the 17th. To mark this occasion, Everland will showcase various nostalgic contents.

Operated by Samsung C&T Resort Division, Everland has introduced several leisure facilities such as Safari World (1976), the Rose Festival and night openings (1985), the snow sledding slope (1988), and the water park Caribbean Bay (1996). Starting with 880,000 visitors annually at its opening in 1976, a total of 257 million people have visited Everland to date. This means the entire population of South Korea has visited on average more than five times.

To celebrate its 45th anniversary, Everland will present several nostalgic contents. First, recalling the memories of radio public broadcasts that were a staple stage during the Natural Farm era, a special 45th anniversary radio public broadcast titled 'MHz.1976 On Air Natural Farm' will be held on the opening anniversary day, the 17th.

In the 1980s and 1990s, popular radio programs such as 'Starry Night' and 'Lee Jong-hwan's Disk Show' often held public broadcasts at Everland. Reflecting on this, the special radio public broadcast on the 17th will be filled with customer participation programs including sharing memories related to Everland, acrostic poem contests, and quiz events. It will be held for one hour each at 4 PM and 6 PM on the outdoor windmill stage at Everland Four Seasons Garden. The radio broadcast will be live-streamed as a 'visible radio' on Everland's YouTube channel. Anyone can participate in real-time through YouTube comments or text messages, and gifts will be given.

Also, two new videos will be screened on the 24m long and 11m high LED large screen introduced for the first time this year: a specially produced '45th Anniversary Birthday Celebration Special Video' compiling Everland memory photos and congratulatory messages sent by customers, and a gratitude video sharing stories related to special numbers gifted by numerous customers since the opening.

In addition, Everland announced that the Four Seasons Garden has been transformed into the 'Natural Farm Homage Garden' to celebrate the 45th anniversary this year. Currently, about 1.3 million spring flowers of around 100 species, including tulips and daffodils, are in bloom. Retro photo zones have been created using nostalgic objects such as past amusement rides, CRT TVs, and advertising posters.

On Everland's Instagram, to celebrate the 45th anniversary week until the 17th of this month, the profile picture will be changed to a Natural Farm concept, and photos from the Natural Farm era such as the scenery at the time of opening and nostalgic rides will be uploaded daily, offering customers a virtual trip to the past.

Everland stated that it plans to set new future directions and growth strategies and take on various challenges. It will accelerate digital transformation by focusing on digital-based content and service differentiation, and aims to leap beyond the theme park concept to become a digital smart space.
