[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) is recruiting companies to participate in the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) robot adoption support project until the 28th of next month.
This project aims to support the introduction of 'collaborative robots' and 'logistics robots' in SME manufacturing sites to improve productivity through manufacturing process innovation and to alleviate labor shortages. The distribution of 'professional service robots' for multi-use facilities such as restaurants, hospitals, cinemas, performance halls, and airports, where non-face-to-face demand is increasing due to COVID-19, will also be promoted.
Collaborative robots are used in SME manufacturing processes, logistics robots in logistics, warehouses, and delivery systems, and professional service robots in facility management, healthcare, and exhibition experience fields.
The support targets SMEs and multi-use facilities in the Incheon area that wish to apply robots. Companies that manufacture and sell robots will be selected to apply.
Incheon TP plans to support up to 30 million KRW per company for costs related to robot purchase, installation, and certification.
An Incheon TP official stated, "The goal is to improve the working environment and productivity of SMEs affected by COVID-19," adding, "It is expected to contribute to the expansion of the robot market size and the revitalization of the robot industry."
