Kakao Enterprise Launches Cloud-Based Live Streaming Platform

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Kakao Enterprise announced on the 12th that it has launched the cloud-based live streaming platform 'Kakao i Connect Live.'

Kakao i Connect Live is a platform that provides all development tools and cloud infrastructure needed to develop 'live video services' such as video conferencing, internet live broadcasting, live commerce, and video calls. Based on RemoteMonster, a live streaming platform specialist company acquired last year, it has improved the existing cloud infrastructure and enhanced stability.

It allows easy and cost-effective development and operation of various streaming services and enables real-time broadcasting without delay. In particular, by applying the web real-time communication technology called 'WebRTC' (a technology that transmits video as is without transcoding), it reduces video streaming latency to less than one second, enabling smooth real-time communication.

It supports most web browsers including Android and iOS, and with a single software development kit (SDK), broadcasting, calling, and video conferencing functions can all be developed.

Additionally, it offers various streaming formats such as video calls, webinars, one-person broadcasts, studio-style live broadcasts, and conference calls, and provides various additional features such as real-time monitoring, chat and real-time events, and recording.

As a cloud-based service, it requires significantly less development and maintenance personnel, greatly reducing development and operation costs. Also, since it provides API documentation, development guides, and handles all streaming server operations, developers can focus solely on service-related functions without the burden of managing streaming servers.
