The Korea Consumer Agency and the National Council of Green Consumers will conduct the "International Campaign for Fraud Prevention Month" for three weeks starting from the 12th.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The Korea Consumer Agency and the National Council of Green Consumers announced on the 12th that they will conduct an 'International Campaign for Fraud Prevention Month' for three weeks to prevent consumer damage caused by greenwashing. Greenwashing refers to disguised environmentalism where companies promote themselves as environmentally friendly with the aim of economic profit such as increasing sales.
This event is an international campaign held annually since 2005 by the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN) to discuss prevention and response measures for consumer damage caused by fraudulent and deceptive transactions, with major member countries of ICPEN participating.
This year, various information such as the background and concept of greenwashing and major cases will be provided as card news through the official SNS channels of the Korea Consumer Agency and the National Council of Green Consumers. Additionally, to increase consumer interest in the campaign, prizes will be offered through an SNS post sharing event until the 30th.
