Installation of Byeokcheon Fountain Underway, Creating Resident-Friendly Waterfront Space to Revitalize Byeolbitnaerincheon... Scenic Enhancement with Mist Fountain and Lighting Accelerates Byeolbitnaerincheon as a Landmark
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is carrying out the installation of a wall fountain at Sillim 2 Bridge on Byeolbitnaerimcheon to provide residents using Byeolbitnaerimcheon with a summer heat shelter and a resting space.
The "Byeolbitnaerimcheon Sillim 2 Bridge Wall Fountain Installation Project," which began construction last March, involves installing a wall fountain (L=20m, H=4.5m, B=4m) with various fountain systems including night lighting and mist fountains on the left bank downstream of Sillim 2 Bridge on Byeolbitnaerimcheon. The project is being carried out with a goal of completion in May this year.
A district official stated, "Through this project, we plan to alleviate the urban heat island effect during summer, providing residents with a cool and pleasant walking environment. At night, we will use the lighting system of the wall fountain to improve the nightscape of Byeolbitnaerimcheon and do our best to establish Byeolbitnaerimcheon as a local landmark."
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "Through the installation of the wall fountain at Sillim 2 Bridge on Byeolbitnaerimcheon, we expect to provide residents with a waterside space, increase the number of tourists visiting Byeolbitnaerimcheon, and see Byeolbitnaerimcheon reborn as a representative attraction of Gwanak-gu."
