Eco-friendly ice packs provided free of charge by NS Home Shopping to outstanding small and medium-sized enterprise partners.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] NS Home Shopping announced on the 9th that it will provide approximately 87,000 ice packs made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), an eco-friendly packaging material, free of charge to outstanding small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) partners.
The supported partners this time are nine excellent SME partners selling refrigerated and frozen products such as kimchi, abalone, and seasoned meat through NS Home Shopping, and the ice packs will be delivered to each business site in April.
As online purchases of fresh food increase and the use of refrigerants rapidly rises, NS Home Shopping prepared this support to improve customer convenience in disposing of ice packs and to encourage eco-friendly delivery policies among SME partners.
Existing ice packs contain gel-type contents that pose a risk of water pollution when separated for disposal, and are laminated products mixed with film and paper, making recycling difficult. However, the eco-friendly ice packs are filled 100% with water, making separation and disposal convenient, and the packaging material is also a refrigerant that can be separated and collected as vinyl.
NS Home Shopping plans to continue its policy of regularly supporting eco-friendly packaging materials for SME partners every quarter.
