[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] eBay Korea announced on the 9th that it has signed a Joint Business Partnership (JBP) agreement with Philips Korea to mutually cooperate in strengthening e-commerce competitiveness.
The two companies held a signing ceremony at Philips Korea's headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul the day before and discussed plans to enhance future cooperation. As part of this, eBay Korea will exclusively sell three models of Philips shavers on Gmarket, Auction, and G9, which it operates.
Additionally, Philips home appliances will be introduced as Smile Delivery products, eBay Korea's next-day combined delivery service, with intensive marketing efforts. Various collaborations aimed at improving customer convenience will also be carried out, such as providing a great experience and benefits for Philips shavers, especially targeting members of eBay Korea's premium membership service, Smile Club.
Jeon Hang-il, CEO of eBay Korea, said, "By leveraging the core competencies of both companies to present strategic products with various benefits, we will maximize synergy," adding, "We will actively utilize Smile services such as Smile Delivery and Smile Club to carry out joint projects so that both companies can achieve good results."
