[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) University Job Center announced on the 8th that it held a meeting with local job-related agency practitioners on the 6th in the Industry-Academic Cooperation Building conference room to create new jobs for the youth and generate added value for companies.
At the meeting, representatives from Suncheon National University University Job Center, Suncheon Employment Center, and youth job-related agencies attended to share the government's major youth job policies for this year and to explore ways to effectively connect youth job policies to job seekers through mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, they focused on discussing specific measures to help local youth gain job experience in the IT field and promote employment in related sectors by utilizing the "Youth Digital Job Project," which supports matching between young IT job seekers and companies, while also helping local IT companies overcome recruitment difficulties.
Through the consultation, Suncheon National University plans to discover and establish cooperative relationships with about 200 IT companies located in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions. For current students and local youth, they will select beneficiaries of job policies and related projects through face-to-face consultations with employment consultants and online/offline policy notification supporter activities. Additionally, they plan to strengthen employment capabilities by supporting various certifications and job training through employment club systems.
Yang Sook-hyang, head of the University Job Center at Suncheon National University, stated, “Youth face difficulties in career development due to a lack of work opportunities, and local IT companies struggle to find skilled personnel. We will actively promote policies and strengthen cooperation through the youth job project to resolve this mismatch phenomenon.”
