Applications Accepted Until the 21st
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] The Korea Exchange is searching for next-generation companies with high technological capabilities and market dominance, known as 'KOSDAQ Rising Stars.'
On the 8th, the Exchange announced that applications for the '2021 KOSDAQ Rising Star' will be accepted until the 21st.
Now in its 13th year, the KOSDAQ Rising Star selection project was created to discover KOSDAQ companies with globally high technological capabilities and growth potential and to provide medium- to long-term support.
Last year, a total of 35 companies were selected, including those possessing innovative technologies in new growth business sectors such as fintech, secondary batteries, and new drug development. The Exchange stated that this year, they plan to select a similar number of companies as last year.
Eligibility is granted to KOSDAQ-listed companies whose main product ranks within the top three in global market share or whose main product is an innovative growth item with a domestic market share within the top three. Innovative growth items are those selected by the Innovation Growth Policy Finance Council, composed of four ministries?the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Financial Services Commission?and 11 policy financial institutions. These items are classified into 9 major themes, 46 fields, and 306 items.
Selected companies are finally decided through quantitative and qualitative evaluations and a comprehensive assessment by a selection committee composed of external experts. Applications can be submitted via the banner on the Exchange's website.
