Shinan-gun Holds Online Appointment Ceremony for Youth Participation Committee

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Jeonnam Sinan-gun (Governor Park Woo-ryang) Youth Counseling Welfare Center announced on the 8th that it held the 2021 Sinan-gun Youth Participation Committee online appointment ceremony and regular meeting.

This appointment ceremony was held non-face-to-face using Zoom to prevent the spread of COVID-19, gathering 29 youth participation committee members (19 middle school students, 9 high school students, and 1 out-of-school youth) selected through open recruitment and school principal recommendations online in one place.

The event included the 2021 Youth Participation Committee online appointment ceremony, followed by enhancing understanding of youth participation activities, establishing an annual activity plan, and electing the chairperson and vice-chairperson.

The Sinan-gun Youth Participation Committee will function as a communication channel between local governments and youth by providing opinions on youth policies and projects, monitoring youth rights and human rights, and holding quarterly regular meetings and various activities throughout the year.

Go Min-ho, director of the Sinan-gun Youth Counseling Welfare Center, said, “Through the operation of the Youth Participation Committee, we will pay close attention and support so that the opinions of youth can be reflected in the policy-making and project processes of Sinan-gun.”
