Incheon International Airport Corporation held the "5th Incheon Airport Awards" on the 7th at Incheon Airport Terminal 1 to select and honor outstanding businesses that contributed to the improvement of Incheon Airport's operations and services.

Incheon Airport Corporation explained that the Incheon Airport Awards, held the previous day, were organized to encourage outstanding operators and courteous employees who contributed to operations and service improvements amid the COVID-19 crisis, and to prepare for a new leap forward for Incheon Airport in the post-COVID-19 era.
At this awards ceremony, the corporation comprehensively considered various indicators such as the speed of task processing, safety management, and service improvements carried out last year, selecting a total of 17 outstanding companies across six sectors: airlines, commercial facilities, ground handling, cargo airlines, logistics companies, and bus transportation.
In the airline sector, six companies including Korean Air, which contributed to expanding smart services without suspending operations despite the COVID-19 situation, were awarded. In the commercial facilities sector, four companies including Hyundai Department Store Duty Free, recognized for excellent customer satisfaction, received awards.
In the ground handling sector, two companies including Korea Airport, recognized for excellence in safety management, were awarded. In the cargo airline sector, two companies including FedEx, which contributed to the development of logistics hubs, were recognized. In the logistics company sector, two companies including Schenker Korea, acknowledged for logistics expertise, were awarded. In the bus transportation sector, Korea General Service KAL Limousine, recognized for excellent courteous service, was selected as this year's outstanding operator.
At this awards ceremony, the 'Incheon Airport Kindness King' award was presented, honoring nine individuals who worked at various customer contact points within Incheon Airport and served as role models through their courteous service.
Kim Kyung-wook, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, “As Incheon Airport celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, I thank all the airport resident employees who have led the growth of Incheon Airport into the world-class airport it is today,” adding, “Going forward, Incheon Airport plans to strengthen the future competitiveness of overall airport operations by working closely with various operators and resident employees within the airport.”
