Mercedes-Benz Korea Launches 'The New Mercedes-Benz G 400d'

Including VAT, 160.6 million KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 8th that it has officially launched the new model of the G-Class, the 'The New Mercedes-Benz G 400d.'

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is the pioneer of Mercedes-Benz's sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and was first unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. In particular, The New G 400d has enjoyed high popularity, selling over 2,000 units since its domestic launch in 2019.

The New G 400d features a box-shaped silhouette made of straight lines, along with unique exterior door handles, sturdy exterior protective strips, and an exposed spare tire, all of which contribute to the G-Class's distinctive and classic exterior design.

Inside, the air vents shaped like the iconic round headlamps of the G-Class are located on both sides, and the turn signal shape is applied to the speaker design on the dashboard. The front passenger grab handle and three differential lock control switches emphasized with chrome are also symbolic elements of the G-Class. Additionally, leather seats, a multifunctional sports steering wheel covered in Nappa leather, and a widescreen cockpit consisting of two 12.3-inch displays are standard features.

The New G 400d is equipped with a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder OM656 diesel engine, delivering a maximum output of 330 horsepower and a maximum torque of 71.4 kg·m. Its top speed is 210 km/h, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The OM656 diesel engine uses technologies such as stepped ball combustion and two-stage exhaust turbocharging to heat the exhaust system without increasing fuel consumption, thereby reducing fuel consumption. It also reduces interior noise and vibration to aid comfortable long-distance driving.

The New G 400d offers agile driving performance and improved ride comfort not only off-road but also on-road through features such as adaptive suspension, Dynamic Select driving modes, and an all-wheel-drive system. Dynamic Select provides a total of five driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Eco, Individual, and G-Mode.

Various driving assistance and convenience features are also equipped. The Driving Assistance Package includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, which maintains distance from the vehicle ahead while supporting automatic speed control, braking, and starting, as well as Active Lane Keeping Assist. The package also includes the PRE-SAFE system and a parking package with a 360-degree camera to support safe driving. Additionally, a smartphone integration package, Burmester surround sound system, and sliding sunroof are standard features.

The price of The New G 400d, including VAT, is 160.6 million KRW.
