[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Lee Do-kyun, CEO of Murim, a leading domestic pulp and paper company, expressed his commitment to developing eco-friendly paper products that replace plastic by participating in the 'GoGo Challenge.'
The 'GoGo Challenge,' launched by the Ministry of Environment in early January, is a lifestyle campaign to reduce disposable items and plastics. The campaign encourages people to "practice one action to stop and one action to start."
CEO Lee Do-kyun stated, "We will reduce the use of replaceable plastic products and take the lead in developing eco-friendly paper products that can be used with confidence." He encouraged, "Reflecting on Murim's mission of pulp and paper technology that adds value to daily life, all employees will unite to open up the eco-friendly value and potential of paper and pulp."
Meanwhile, Murim is leading the activation of the eco-friendly market by launching a separate eco-friendly exclusive brand called 'Neofore?t,' which means 'paper that returns to the forest.' The Neofore?t eco-friendly product line includes paper straws and paper cups that can replace plastic, and recently, paper cushioning materials that replace plastic bubble wrap for delivery packaging were also released.
CEO Lee Do-kyun joined this challenge after being nominated by Kim Cheol-hwan, Dean of Gyeongsang National University and President of the Korean Pulp and Paper Society. He nominated Hwang Yoon-il, Vice President of CJ CheilJedang, as the next participant and requested his cooperation.
