Indoor Sports Facility to Open at Daerim Yusuji in Yeongdeungpo-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] An indoor sports facility including a swimming pool will be built on the site of Daerim 3 Retention Basin in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

On the 7th, Seoul City held the 4th Urban Planning Committee meeting and announced on the 8th that it conditionally approved the covering review for the installation of sports facilities within Daerim 3 Retention Basin at 611 Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu.

Established in 1976, Daerim 3 Retention Basin has been used as a retention facility along with an ecological park and outdoor sports facilities. With the approval of this covering review, part of the area (3,000㎡) will be covered to build indoor sports facilities such as a swimming pool and an alternative gymnasium.

Seoul City stated, "While fulfilling the original flood control function of the retention basin, installing sports facilities, which are needed by the local community, is expected to contribute to improving the quality of life for residents in the Daerim-dong area."
