Regions with Low Accommodation Booking Rates on TMON: Busan and Chungcheong

Announcement of Regional Booking Status to Reference Safe Travel Amid Increasing Travel Demand

Regions with Low Accommodation Booking Rates on TMON: Busan and Chungcheong

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON (CEO Lee Jin-won) announced on the 8th that it conducted and released a survey on accommodation reservation status by region to provide reference for safe travel amid the recent increase in spring travel demand.

The results of TMON's survey, conducted from the 1st of last month to the 7th of this month, showed that the regions with the fewest reservations were Busan and Chungcheong, while Jeju had the most. Jeju accounted for 43% of the total, making it the most visited travel destination. This was followed by ▲Gangwon ▲Gyeonggi ▲Gyeongsang ▲Jeolla in order of reservation share. In contrast, Busan and Chungcheong had the lowest reservation rates at 3% each.

Regarding accommodation types, 7 out of 10 people chose hotels, but there were regional differences. Jeju, Seoul, and Busan saw overwhelming hotel reservations due to the high demand for 'hotel vacations' (Hokangs). On the other hand, Gyeonggi, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla regions showed reservation rates of over 60% for pensions and campgrounds, thanks to environments where visitors can enjoy nature.

TMON is holding a 'Spring Travel Invitation' special exhibition with added safe travel guidelines until the 30th for consumers preparing for spring travel, offering up to 10% discounts on all products. The exhibition page provides information on 'rules and preparations for safe travel' and recommends about 300 special-priced products by region.

A TMON official said, "As spring travel demand increases, we analyzed and announced reservation status by region and are making efforts to support customers' safe travel by including safety guidelines within the special exhibition. We will continue to do our best so that customers can live more safely and conveniently with TMON while enjoying special-price shopping."
