Hanwha Total Selects Professor Jeong Byeong-moon of Ewha Womans University for 'Hanwha Polymer Academic Award'


[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Professor Jung Byung-moon of the Department of Chemical Nano Science at Ewha Womans University has been selected as this year’s recipient of the 'Hanwha Polymer Academic Award,' established by Hanwha Total and organized by the Korean Polymer Society, for his contributions to research on medical bio-materials in Korea.


Hanwha Total announced on the 8th that at the 'Polymer Society Spring General Meeting' held at the Daejeon Convention Center, Professor Jung Byung-moon of Ewha Womans University’s Department of Chemical Nano Science, who was selected as the 2021 recipient of the 'Hanwha Polymer Academic Award,' was presented with a plaque and a research grant of 10 million KRW.


Professor Jung was recognized for his contributions to the advancement of Korea’s medical chemistry and materials fields through his research on 'Design and synthesis of medical polymer biomaterials and applications in the biomedical field,' earning him this year’s Hanwha Polymer Academic Award.


Hanwha Total established the Hanwha Polymer Academic Award in 2005 to promote the development of polymer science, which forms the foundation of basic science and petrochemical industry technology. Each year, the award supports scientists who have contributed to the advancement of polymer science in Korea with a research grant of 10 million KRW.


Professor Jung expressed his gratitude, stating, "I will continue to do my best to achieve practical results in the bio field."
