[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor, refuted the ruling party's claim that there is photographic evidence of 'Ferragamo' shoes by stating they are a 'domestic brand.'
On the 6th, after finishing a campaign event at Bulgwangcheon in Eunpyeong-gu, Oh responded to reporters' questions on the matter by saying, "I find it absurd to have to personally clarify this issue."
Park Young-sun, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul mayor, mentioned earlier that day on BBS Radio, "This morning, netizens mobilized to find photos of the Ferragamo loafers that candidate Oh supposedly wore," adding, "Finally, someone found a photo from the opening ceremony of the Dongdaemun Seoul Fashion Center in September 2006, where candidate Oh was wearing those Ferragamo shoes."
Oh then said, "How can candidate Park say such things?" He added, "Even at a glance, you can tell that the brand the ruling party claims is not correct, and the design is clearly different; they are a domestic brand."
Meanwhile, on the final day of campaigning, Oh visited Sinchon, a university district, to win the youth vote in a 'final rally.' Present at the event were Kim Jong-in, the People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman; Joo Ho-young, the floor leader; and Ahn Cheol-soo, co-chairman of the joint campaign committee. Oh emphasized, "I never imagined that young people in their 20s and 30s would place such expectations on the People Power Party," adding, "I will bear this heavy responsibility and repay you by winning tomorrow."
