Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced as of 0 a.m. on the 7th is expected to increase further, reaching the high 500s or possibly the 600s.
If the number of confirmed cases reaches the 600s, it will be the first time in 48 days since February 18 (621 cases).
Looking at the regions where confirmed cases were reported, 369 cases (70.0%) were in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 158 cases (30.0%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
