[Featured Stock] Giantstep Rises Strong Amid Metaverse Boom

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] Giant Step is showing strong performance. The company is gaining attention as a firm with technology related to advertising and video VFX (visual effects) amid the 'Metaverse' craze.

As of 2:37 PM on the 6th, Giant Step is trading on the KOSDAQ market at 51,900 KRW, up 5,600 KRW (12.1%) from the previous day.

Giant Step also set a new high price the day before, rising 21.68% to 46,300 KRW. Giant Step entered the KOSDAQ market on March 24 through a special listing for technology growth companies.

Founded in 2008, Giant Step is a company specializing in advertising and video VFX. As of the third quarter of last year, content production including advertising, video VFX, and real-time content accounted for 77% of total sales. Other sales include video content sales (16.6%), broadcasting equipment products and merchandise sales (3.4%), and broadcasting equipment service sales (2.9%). The company is now expanding its business into immersive new media content such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), interactive design, and holograms.

VFX is a technique that creates scenes that cannot exist in reality or are difficult to film by compositing drawings or videos. It is used in various content industries such as advertising, gaming, and movies. Based on this technological capability, last year Giant Step conducted the paid 'XR Live' concert ‘Beyond LIVE’ with SM Entertainment and participated in the production of the girl group 'aespa'. It also operates the real-time untact XR live show on Naver’s live streaming platform ‘NOW.’

Additionally, the company introduced the 'Vincent Project,' a virtual human based on a real-time engine that can respond and interact in real time. Preparations for overseas market expansion have also been steadily underway. Giant Step has a branch office in the United States and acts as an official vendor for global content producers such as Walt Disney, Netflix, Google, and NBC Universal.
