[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Daehan Electric Wire announced on the 6th that it recorded orders worth 70 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year in the United States.
According to Daehan Electric Wire, from January to March this year, it successfully secured orders evenly across the eastern U.S. regions of New York and Pennsylvania, as well as the western regions of California and Idaho. The product range is also diverse, from ㎷ (medium voltage) cables to 345kV EHV (extra high voltage) cables and accessories.
The largest project was a 13.9 billion KRW 138kV cable project ordered in New York in March. A special method is used that replaces cables and systems while maintaining existing infrastructure such as manholes and conduits.
Daehan Electric Wire's annual sales in the U.S. market, which was 43 billion KRW in 2015, grew about fivefold to 207 billion KRW last year. Daehan Electric Wire analyzed that moving away from sales focused on existing products to discovering customer needs and proposing solutions was effective.
Earlier, last month, Daehan Electric Wire was also selected as a quality excellence company by PG&E, one of the five major power companies in the United States.
