Gwangyang City Public Health Center Operates 'Visiting Physical Therapy Room'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] On the 5th, the Gwangyang City Public Health Center in Jeollanam-do announced that it is operating a 'Visiting Physical Therapy Room' for health-vulnerable groups who have difficulty or inability to move.

The operation of the Visiting Physical Therapy Room aims to improve the daily living independence and prevent secondary disabilities of health-vulnerable groups in the region who require rehabilitation due to spinal diseases, arthritis, stroke, muscle weakness, and pain caused by aging.

The physical therapy room is operated by two teams of visiting public health physical therapists from the health center, consisting of four members divided into two zones.

The main services include ▲preventive management education for arthritis, spinal diseases, stroke, etc. ▲low-frequency electrical stimulation therapy ▲physical therapy using taping methods ▲exercise therapy to prevent joint contracture and improve mobility ▲physical activities such as repositioning to prevent muscle stiffness and bedsores in bedridden patients.

Park Hye-jung, Director of the Urban Health Branch, said, “We will continue to provide customized visiting health services suitable for various groups to extend the healthy lifespan of local residents and improve their quality of life.”
