Jinju City Publishes the 100th Issue of the Municipal Newsletter 'Chokseokru'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 2nd that it has published the 100th issue of the city newsletter (April 2021 issue).

began in 2011 as the tabloid-style newspaper 'Jinju Sosik' and was changed to the current booklet form <矗石樓> (Chokseokru) starting from issue 58 in 2016. Later, from issue 69 in 2018, the title was changed to the Korean name , continuing in its present form.

Since the 7th elected administration began in 2019, rather than simply focusing on city news or promotion, it has serialized content about the lives of people and cultural explorations, making it a newsletter that resonates with citizens and shares stories about Jinju citizens and the culture of Jinju.

In this issue, the work ‘Mokdan’ by Jinju-born painter Park Saeng-gwang is featured on the cover, greatly enhancing the dignity of the 100th issue. It also contains works and stories from citizens supporting , adding further significance.

Publisher and Jinju Mayor Jo Gyu-il stated in the commemorative message for the 100th issue, " will evolve into a comprehensive newsletter representing Jinju City that can convey our city’s stories, reflect the voices of citizens, and allow people to feel the livable Jinju."

Jinju City plans to collect opinions from citizens about their wishes for until April 23 in celebration of the 100th issue.
