[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Kyowon Group's health appliance brand Wells announced on the 1st that it will launch the 'Wells The One Home Cafe,' a device that allows users to enjoy both tea and coffee in one machine.
According to Wells, this new product can be conveniently used as a single device without the need for separate dedicated machines such as coffee makers or tea makers. Tea and coffee are extracted through separate channels and spouts, preventing the flavors from mixing.
Tea can be brewed in three strengths: mild, regular, and strong, while coffee can be extracted in three levels: lungo, espresso, and ristretto. The machine applies a 19-bar high-pressure extraction method used in specialty coffee shops, providing richer crema and a stronger taste.
Another advantage is the hygienic drinking environment that differentiates it from existing capsule coffee machines. The Wells The One Home Cafe uses an automatic water supply system directly connected to a water purifier or water filtering unit, significantly reducing the hassle of refilling the water tank each time and the possibility of bacterial contamination. The extraction channels can be manually cleaned, and the drawer that holds the capsules after tea and coffee extraction is also detachable for cleaning, according to Wells.
For rental users, a Wells manager visits every six months to provide maintenance services. Additionally, for customer convenience, a subscription service is offered that delivers 30 capsules monthly in bundles. The subscription includes three types of Wells health tea packages and one package of capsules from the Belgian coffee brand Belmio.
A Wells representative stated, “The new product uses clean purified water to provide the most hygienic environment for enjoying tea and coffee according to personal taste.” They added, “With the combination of taste, hygiene, and convenience, it will establish itself as a customized product for the growing home cafe market.”
Meanwhile, to celebrate the launch of Wells The One Home Cafe, a welcome package offering 60 capsules will be available until the end of this month. Additionally, an event is being held until the end of June where customers subscribing to the capsule service will receive a capsule holder worth 65,000 KRW as a gift.
