[Featured Stocks] DSC Inve, 'IPO Giants' Kurly and Ridibooks... All Promising Prospects Are Here

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] DSC Investment is showing strong performance. Interest in the IPO market has increased following Coupang's listing on the New York Stock Exchange, which has led to growing attention on DSC Investment's powerful portfolio.


As of 10:13 AM on the 29th, DSC Investment was trading at 6,070 KRW, up 12.20% (660 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.


DSC Investment achieved record-high performance last year, recording an operating profit of 28.9 billion KRW and a net profit of 24 billion KRW.


At a recent online investor briefing, DSC Investment introduced 10 companies in which it has invested. It holds an impressive portfolio including Kurly, Musinsa, Ridibooks, Genome & Company, SCM Life Sciences, and Riiid. DSC Investment invested a total of 4 billion KRW in Market Kurly through two rounds: the seed round in 2015 and Series B in 2017. The company's valuation at the time of investment was 52.5 billion KRW. The current market valuation of Market Kurly is estimated to reach 1 trillion KRW.


DSC Investment invests in various fields such as mobility, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced materials, and biotechnology. It invested a total of 3.5 billion KRW in Pharos iBio, an AI drug development company planning to go public this year, during Series A and Series B rounds. It also invested 8.5 billion KRW in SM Lab, which owns proprietary technology for cathode materials for secondary batteries, securing a 14.6% stake.


Additionally, DSC Investment has invested in a diverse portfolio including ▲ Phantom AI, a developer of auxiliary systems for autonomous vehicles (4.2 billion KRW) ▲ Furiosa AI, an AI semiconductor chip manufacturer (2.5 billion KRW) ▲ Brandi, an operator of a shopping curation app (5.6 billion KRW) ▲ Neuromeka, a collaborative robot software developer (6 billion KRW) ▲ Ridi, an e-book publishing and distribution platform (2 billion KRW) ▲ and Mannac CEA, a wholesaler of agricultural machinery and equipment (9 billion KRW).
