[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 26th the education programs for this year’s high-performance brand Mercedes-AMG’s driving education program, the 'AMG Driving Academy,' and opened registration for participants in the first half of the year.
The AMG Driving Academy is a professional driving program developed by the Mercedes-AMG headquarters in Germany. Participants can experience AMG’s dynamic performance at the world’s first AMG-branded track, AMG Speedway, and easily and accurately learn various driving skills ranging from vehicle control to cornering and racing techniques.
This year’s AMG Driving Academy, starting on the 11th of next month, consists of five programs for beginners: ▲AMG Starter ▲AMG Experience ▲AMG Performance ▲AMG GT Experience ▲AMG Advanced.
All programs are conducted with AMG vehicles, allowing participants to drive various AMG models, including the new AMG lineup introduced domestically last year. In the AMG Starter program, participants can experience the 'The New Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC+,' 'The New Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC+ Hatchback,' and 'The New Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Sedan.' The AMG Experience offers the chance to drive the best-selling high-performance 4-door sports car boasting a maximum output of 639 horsepower, the 'Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe,' as well as the facelifted 'The New Mercedes-AMG GT,' launched last October.
Mercedes-Benz Korea has prepared various preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure participant safety while preparing this year’s programs. Vehicles, indoor training areas, and waiting spaces are disinfected more than twice a day, and the flow of participants is arranged to allow everyone to practice social distancing, minimizing contact with other participants. Additionally, health supplies such as nitrile gloves and hand sanitizers will be provided to prevent infection.
Mark Rein, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Korea, said, "Over the past three years, domestic performance car enthusiasts have truly enjoyed driving performance at AMG Speedway. Mercedes-Benz Korea will continue to lead the domestic high-performance car market and culture and expand customer engagement to spread the joy of driving."
The AMG Driving Academy is open to anyone aged 18 or older with a valid driver’s license, and applications for the 2021 AMG Driving Academy program can be submitted through the Mercedes-Benz Korea website.
