[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Naibi (CEO Kim Dong-hyun) announced on the 25th that it will launch a real-time voice chat feature called 'Salon' on the social music radio service 'Heureum' and change the service name to 'Heureum de Salon.'
Heureum is a service where users can listen to music playlists curated by DJs in a radio format, and as of March, it has recorded a cumulative membership of 130,000, showing growth.
The newly launched feature, 'Salon,' is a space where users can listen to music while engaging in voice chat. Users can create a salon, invite acquaintances, and enjoy music together while chatting via voice and text.
Kim Dong-hyun, CEO of Naibi, explained, "In the untact era where meetings have become cautious due to COVID-19, we realized the emotion of sharing conversations and discussions with acquaintances in the same space with the same music background remotely through the new 'Salon' feature."
He added, "Many audio platforms, including Clubhouse, do not have contracts for music broadcasting, so both the service providers and users broadcasting music face the risk of criminal lawsuits for intellectual property infringement. Heureum de Salon is a legal audio platform for music broadcasting through contracts with music copyright organizations."
Naibi secured seed investment from IBK Industrial Bank and KAIST in 2019 and developed a 'feature-based music work detection system' through the TIPS program.
