This amount exceeds that of Lee Myunghan, Executive Director at CJ ENM, and PD Na Youngseok, both well-known high earners in the media and entertainment industry.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 23rd, YG Entertainment paid PD Han a total salary of 1.871 billion KRW last year. Additionally, PD Han received 92 million KRW as severance pay, bringing his total earnings for the year to 1.963 billion KRW. PD Han terminated his contract with YG Entertainment last year.
Previously, it was reported that CJ ENM's Executive Director Lee Myunghan and PD Na Youngseok received total compensation of 1.439 billion KRW and 1.229 billion KRW respectively last year. PD Han's salary last year was approximately 500 million to 700 million KRW higher than theirs.
PD Han joined Mnet in 1998 and consecutively succeeded with shows such as "Produce 101," "Show Me the Money," and "Unpretty Rapstar." In 2017, he moved to YG Entertainment and directed JTBC's "Mix Nine," among others.
After his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment expired in November last year, he established a one-person production company called Funky Studio. Recently, he has been preparing a global idol production project in collaboration with MBC.
