Estimated Loan Amount Around 15 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Soccer player Ki Sung-yueng (32, FC Seoul) has joined the ranks of "building tycoons" by purchasing a building worth over 20 billion KRW located in Gwancheol-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
According to the building brokerage industry on the 23rd, Ki Sung-yueng purchased a building located in Gwancheol-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, for 20.9 billion KRW in November last year.
This building, constructed five years ago, is a 2-minute walk from Jonggak Station on Line 1. It has 2 basement floors and 9 above-ground floors, with a land area of 152.7 pyeong and a building area of 865.55 pyeong.
The maximum claim amount on the registration certificate was confirmed to be 18.72 billion KRW. Typically, the maximum claim amount is set at about 120% of the loan, so the actual loan is estimated to be 15.6 billion KRW.
A real estate expert explained, "At the time of purchase, the rental yield was over 4%, which is a high level even in Seoul," adding, "It appears that the purchase was made with the expectation of stable rental income in the future."
Ki Sung-yueng also owns a local landmark named after him, the "Sung-yueng Building," in his hometown Suncheon. The market price of this building is around 6 billion KRW.
He purchased land in the Shindae district of Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon City, in 2009 and built a building with 2 basement floors and 10 above-ground floors in 2014.
Meanwhile, Ki Sung-yueng married actress Han Hye-jin in 2013, and they have one daughter.
Recently, allegations surfaced claiming that Ki Sung-yueng committed sexual assault during his elementary school years, but Ki Sung-yueng’s side has completely denied the accusations.
Ki Sung-yueng’s side filed a criminal complaint and a 500 million KRW damages lawsuit against the accusers yesterday, initiating legal action.
The accusers claimed that since the sexual assault allegations arose, Ki Sung-yueng’s side has mobilized their network in the Suncheon and Gwangyang areas to pressure alumni to keep the related facts confidential.
