People Power Party, to professor raising admission allegations against Park Hyung-jun's daughter: "Has suffered from amnesia before"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The People Power Party criticized former Hongik University professor Kim Seung-yeon, who has alleged unfair admission practices involving Park Hyung-jun, the People Power Party's candidate for Busan mayor, calling him "someone who has suffered from amnesia" and demanded that the Democratic Party verify the credibility of these claims first.

On the 22nd, Kim So-jung, spokesperson for the People Power Party's Busan mayoral by-election campaign committee, stated in a press release, "At first glance, former Professor Kim seems to have lived honestly, dedicating a long time to eradicating admission corruption," adding, "When the Hongik University admission scandal broke out in 2008, he boldly claimed that he had thrown away money bags brought by parents during his 17 years of service, and actively pushed for internal whistleblowing on the 2008 Hongik University admission corruption."

However, she continued, "For some reason, former Professor Kim admitted that regarding Park candidate's daughter around 2000, 'I gave about 85 points because I was afraid that giving 30 points would hinder my promotion,'" criticizing, "He claims to have thrown away bundles of illicit money, but now admits to manipulating practical exam scores for his promotion."

Spokesperson Kim emphasized, "Did he accept some requests and reject others? Is this the same person? Does former Professor Kim's belief in integrity, who threw away bundles of parents' money, collapse infinitely in front of his own promotion?"

She added, "It is also known that former Professor Kim suffered from amnesia after narrowly escaping death five times as a child, yet Kim Eo-jun even described him as having 'very detailed memory' and 'photographic memory,'" and accused, "The regime's mouthpieces are spreading former Professor Kim's words without thorough verification, relentlessly engaging in black propaganda and political manipulation against candidate Park."

Spokesperson Kim issued a stern warning to the Democratic Party: "Stop the vile negative campaigning and political manipulation immediately and prepare to face the stern judgment of the people. The day will surely come when the Democratic Party pays the price for its despicable negative tactics."

On the same day, former Professor Kim appeared on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and said, "Upon reflection, I recall that Jo Hyun made an admission request," adding, "The late Professor Lee had his assistant call me up, and when I opened the door, Jo Hyun was directly in front, with Jo Hyun's daughter next to him, and then to the left stood Lee Doo-sik."

He continued, "The professor who called me said that she had studied in Europe and was taking a special admission exam this time. Kim and I were supposed to grade it together, which is actually illegal. After the practical exam, the admissions office or academic affairs office is supposed to notify the graders."

He added, "At that time, Jo Hyun cried. I remember her saying in the Busan dialect, 'Teacher, please make sure my daughter passes.' Then the two of us went to an empty practical exam room at the school, placed an easel there, leaned a drawing board against the floor, and numbered the exam sheets 1, 2, 3, 4 without knowing the examinee numbers."

Former Professor Kim said, "Professor Lee pointed at the exam sheet with his finger and said to give over 80 points here. So I think I gave about 85 points. If I had given 30 points, there would have been a huge uproar. It would have greatly hindered my promotion."
